NutritionCircle Forum Tips and Rules
NutritionCircle's online community is a place where people can come together to share and discuss issues surrounding the practice and application of nutrition. We encourage you to be a part of this vibrant and rapidly growing community. Please keep in mind the following tips and rules:
Tips
· On the discussion board, there are several levels of organization to group the information:
1. The top level is "Categories", which are the broadest groupings (so for us, the 4th of 5 Categories is "Nutritional Counseling: Health Conditions") 2. The next level is "Forums", which are sub-groups of Categories (so for us, one Forum under "Nutr'l Counslg: Hlth. Conditions" is "Diabetes / Obesity / Weight Loss")
3. The next level is "Topics", which are essentially new "threads" as in Blackboard. So for us, in the "Diabetes & Metabol. Synd." forum, one Topic is "Blood Sugar Management Protocol". That is the title of the Topic and initial post, and then multiple people reply back and forth on that Topic.
· Get an overview of the categories and forums structure, so you know how NutritionCircle is organized.
· If posting information or asking a question, remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at the Category and Topic structure, to see where your topic should logically go. If your topic is placed in the wrong forum, it may be moved by a moderator.
· When posting, use a very descriptive title for topics and replies so people know immediately what it is about and so that when people search for key words, your topic will appear. So "Ordering Lab Tests? - Scope of Nutritionist Practice" is much more effective than "Help".
· See the 'Help' button in the upper left and the 'Using This Discussion Board' forum to learn more about how to use the application.

Polite Online Behavior
A dicussion board thread may feel like an actual "conversation," but the rules of polite online behavior are different.
